The holiday edit with Alina Brane

Alina Brane is the Head of Womenswear at GANT. She likes midcentury furniture, textile art and people with colourful style. This time of the year she is also obsessed with Christmas ornaments, dessert wine and indoor shoes.
With the holidays just around the corner I plan to make up for last year’s isolation and go all in on celebration with family and friends.
Ingamar Bergman’s masterpiece Fanny & Alexander is my forever go-to for inspiration and I’m decorating our apartment in that exact spirit, forcing my boyfriend to carry home the largest tree possible and tying wreaths in red silk ribbons on all double doors. When it comes to my look I appreciate dressing up this time of year. Dresses in all their glory but a suit is always my fave choice and if it comes as a three piece, well even better!

Suit: GANT Rope Jacquard blazer, vest and trousers
Necklace: Arket
Shoes: Manolo’s
Indoor shoes are the shit
… An opinon that proves one has finally reached a certain age. I suggest everyone to embrace it (both shoes and age that is) and go all in on extravagant options! I love Manolo’s bejewelled flats, they bring the perfect icing on the cake-touch to any outfit while still being comfy.
Shoes are Manolo Blahnik Hangisi Flats & vintage Okkato Mules from Vestiaire Collective

The Christmas
dare devil
Okey, okey, I know wearing red for Christmas is a potentially no-go, but hey, what’s a girl to do when the GANT x Luke Edward Hall collab included THE PERFECT burgundy suit in wide wale corduroy?? I simply had no chance. Styling the blazer without anything underneath, smoky eyes, Manolo’s and I’m ready for holiday wining and dining.
Suit: Corduroy Suit, GANT x LEH
Shoes: Manolo’s
Christmas ornaments
are jewelry too
When it comes to jewellery this is the time when magpies spare no expenses – something that goes for Christmas ornaments as well.
Personally I like mixing and matching jewellery depending on occasion and mood, but my always-on and latest obsession is pinky rings. Zuzana Spustova is best in class, I mean have you seen her stacks of diamonds?! Already having the Audace Duo ring in Rose Gold I now have my eyes on a Solitaire Diamond. Dear Santa etc.
Necklaces: Chunky gold chain, Arket. Medallion gold chain, Old Céline. Baroque Pearls, vintage.
Earrings: Pearls and Triple Ball Drops in gold, all Old Céline
Rings: Duo ring, Zuzana Spustova. Petit pavé diamond ring, Engelbert.
Christmas Ornaments: Svenskt Tenn & Artilleriet
Cosy but elegant
Knit: Toteme
Trousers: Malene Birger
The current knitwear trend opens up for both a cosy and elegant holiday look. My favourite is mixing different textures like fluffy soft alpaca and silky fluid pants, but sticking to the same color – I think winter white is the most beautiful this time of year.

I Love shopping in my own closet
I love shopping in my own closet, rediscovering archive pieces and stying them in new ways to make the look contemporary – sustainability at it’s finest! Like this oldie but goodie from Chris Kane’s AW11 collection with the best neckline in the history of fashion.
Dress: Christopher Kane
Necklace: Arket
Earrings: Old Céline
Season of layering
I have a hangup on layering at the moment, dresses on top of long skirts or pants – I think it’s so chic and perfect for dressing up during winter.
Dress: Scuba dress with leather applications, Acne Studios / trousers: High waisted pleated pant by Acne Studios / Shoes: Manolo’s
