What happens if you cross classic Italian heritage sportswear with experimental streetwear? We found out the first time we put our eyes on the collaboration between Colmar and Shayne Oliver. But we were even more convinced about its greatness the third time (but it has been so good all along).

This fall Italian luxury sports brand Colmar presented its second collaboration with Hood by Air founder Shayne Oliver. You might remember the first one, worn by Linn last winter season? The first collection was all about being visible by bold color but the second collection explores something else even though it’s still about visibility. Only this time it’s by night.

Shayne Olivers design are maximalist in a very fun way I’d say. It’s not about being the craziest when it’s coming too patterns or details. It’s all the silhouettes and the many ways you can wear his pieces.

Let’s take this oversize puffer coat for example. It’s playing with being both a very practical down jacket to shield you from the winter cold and being a statement cape. I’d say that’s the most humorist coat ever. And of course it has the glow in the dark details too.

Or this rib puffer jacket. Is it reversible?? No it’s not. But it wants you to think it is. We almost fell for that one, rib puff jacket!

But this is the whole idea about Colmar A.G.E (which stands for Advanced Garment Exploration, I knew you wanted to ask). It’s not only an acronym, but a space for research, development and to me also, limitless creativity. The exploration of what outerwear and more importantly sportswear is. And I love how Colmar dares to investigate in that and reinterpret their DNA and history by redefining its heritage and creating garments that mixes high innovation, technology and high fashion.
