Burberry by Daniel Lee Revealed

Over the weekend the fashion world noticed how the Instagram account of Burberry was cleaned up and left empty. People immediately started gossiping about this having something to do with the new creative director Daniel Lee, former creative director of Italian powerhouse Bottega Veneta, and the new era he is expected to bring the British heritage brand Burberry in.

On Monday Lee’s first campaign for Burberry was revealed however the campaign did not contain any clothes designed by the new creative director. Instead, the focus of the campaign was the new logo and symbol, with which Burberry seems to reconnect with the heritage of the brand.

The Burberry new logo features subtly curved letters in contrast with the sans-serif logo premiered out under former leaders Marco Gobbetti and Riccardo Tisci. The brand also released a redesign of its equestrian knight logo carrying a flag that says “Prorsum”, first introduced in 1901 (which would sound like the beginning of time for a brand that is still so current, but it actually isn’t because Burberry was founded back in 1856).
